Mencap Advice & Advocacy Service
The Advice and Advocacy Service offers a range of services to people with learning disabilities, their parents and carers in the Herts area. You can contact the service yourself or be referred. The services are staffed by experienced individuals who understand the issues facing people with a learning disability and their carers.
We can offer advice and information around many issues and if we don't know the answer we will put you in contact with someone who does. Some problems can be complicated and so with Crisis Advocacy we are able to act as your advocate attending meetings with you or speaking on your behalf. Anyone can access these services and we aim to provide a suitable service for all people.
We also run several Self Advocacy Groups for people with learning disabilities living in the area. They meet regularly and people talk about the issues that are important to them.
