Community Support Service
This is a professional service that offers one-to-one support for clients in their own home and/or in the community.
Support can be provided to help people with every day living and social skills, such as budgeting, healthy eating, shopping, accessing leisure and recreational facilities, using public transport. attending appointments and advocacy.
Sessions are generally in the form of half or whole days, and where necessary individuals may receive multiple sessions to support them with specific tasks. The emphasis is on enabling people to reach their full potential and that each person's service is tailored to meet individual needs.
As well as supporting people with a learning disability who live alone, the service also provides respite for the carers of those who live in the family home.
The service is accredited by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) and Hertfordshire County Council. All the support staff are trained and have considerable experience and specialist skills for working in the community with people with a wide range of learning disabilities. At our recent CSCI inspection, our Community Suport Service received an excellent report.
Adult Care Services and Children, Schools and Families usually refer clients and the cost is paid for by Hertfordshire County Council. However the service can be purchased privately at a cost of £17.55 per hour.
We always welcome enquiries, so please don't hesitate to call if you wish to know more, or would just like some advice about getting the right kind of help.
