Christmas Appeal 2010

We need your help to support more children with a learning disability and give more families a break in 2011

This year, we have launched a Christmas Appeal, aiming to raise £5000 for our Children’s Centre on St Albans Road. We are urging supporters, old and new, to donate what they can this Christmas to help support more children with a learning disability and give more families a break in 2011.

Children come to the Children’s Centre to play and have fun, while their parents get a break and time to spend with other children. The Children’s Centre at the Dome roundabout provides a range of support and care for children with learning disabilities including Afterschool Clubs, Youth Clubs and holiday Playschemes.

Parents say:

‘What an absolute blessing you all are. Not only did H love attending, but I was also able to spend valuable time with my other 3 boys. When I spoke to other parents I know they felt the same way. You’re an amazing group, once again thanks so much.’

‘I know R loves coming there on a Friday, and certainly we find it a welcome bit of respite.’

See http://www.watfordmencap.org.uk/parents_and_carers/children/ for more information.

The money raised will allow us to continue our services, providing much-needed support to children with a learning disability and their families.

£10 could pay for one child for an hour at Afterschool Club

£60 could feed all the children at Afterschool Club for a week

£110 could pay for three play workers to support 9 children at an Afterschool Club session
