Achieving Potential Together
The APT Club is a new project for the Children’s Centre. It is a youth club specifically for young people with higher health needs. Often these young people feel less secure in a large group of their able bodied friends. APT club offers them a chance to socialise in a less hectic environment which has the facilities to cater to their personal care needs.
The group runs on a Saturday afternoon from 4pm to 7pm. They meet to socialise with friends while playing game consoles, using laptops, or taking part in music, drama and art activities. But the group does not just stay in. They can often be seen out shopping, bowling, at the cinema or having a meal at a local restaurant.
