Project Coordinator - Adults Learning Disabilities

18 hours per week, Rickmansworth base and community

Hours include working in Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere

£9,088.56 per annum (equivalent to £18934.50 fte) plus benefits

As Co-ordinator in the Learning & Leisure project you will design, plan and deliver a diverse range of structured social and educational activities for adults with learning disabilities. These activities will be delivered in the community and will cover a broad range of topics including social inclusion, self-advocacy, safety, friendship, politics, managing money, health & well being and employment. You will ensure the activities are delivered in a personalised way.

You are a leader who will encourage people to join in activities and increase their skills and independence. You will be supporting clients to try new things, to take control of their lives and take risks through a programme of planned support and risk assessment. This is a varied role which will involve you undertaking administration and delivering direct support.

You will supervise support staff and volunteers, provide coaching and advice, maintaining a high quality service. You will build good relationships, liaising with clients, families and professionals.

You are a good communicator with a can-do attitude and a welcoming and inclusive approach. You have an eye for detail, emotional resilience and the ability to juggle a broad and diverse workload. You have good IT skills. In return you will find this an extremely rewarding role where you will be making a real difference to peoples’ lives on a regular basis.

This is a part-time job which can involve lone-working in the Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere areas. The working pattern is flexible dependant on business need but will require working some evenings and weekends. You must be a car driver and willing to transport clients in your own vehicle .
