Staffing Manager - casual, temporary and flexible staff

25 hours per week, £17,330 per annum (equivalent to £26k fte)

Are you an experienced manager who can build good relationships with your team and coordinate to ensure you achieve the maximum from your rota?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in this new role. You will manage our temporary, casual and flexible workforce, ensuring maximum efficiency across the organisation.  You will be managing this new service by bringing in a largely scattered team to one central point of booking, placement, management and recruitment. You will be providing a responsive and flexible service to both internal and external customers, prioritising the varying needs of managers from different projects. You will build a good relationship with your staff and have a good understanding of where they can work, ensuring maximum efficiency and reduced agency costs. You will be responsible for ensuring workers have sufficient training and supervision during the year in order to meet the demands of the organisation.

You have excellent communication skills and are able to obtain an up to date knowledge of the needs of the projects, understanding their current and future rostering needs and able to encourage workers to work across multiple projects. You will also work closely with the HR Manager to plan recruitment campaigns and support at recruitment events ensuring a good attraction of the right candidates to Watford Mencap.

You are confident working alone and resilient to working under pressure and to tight deadlines. You have a good knowledge and understanding of social care staffing requirements and have previous experience of managing staff.

You will recruit, interview and coordinate the local induction of casual workers ensuring there is a steady stream of workers available across the organisation. You will produce and maintain accurate records of workers available for work, using IT resources to build a clear picture of rostering needs/gaps and producing regular management information. You will match and allocate workers across the organisation to maximise efficiency and reduce agency costs.

You have operational experience from the social or health care sector and you have a good working knowledge of temporary staffing, recruitment and management.  You have a level 3 in social care or management or equivalent and have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
