HR Administrator – part time, 1 year Fixed Term Contract

£7,180 per annum (equivalent to £8.63 per hour)

16 hours per week, split across at least 3 days (must include Thursday)

Watford Mencap is recruiting a part-time HR Administrator on a 1 year fixed term contract.  You will play an important role supporting our local charity. You will deliver timely and accurate administration across all HR streams including recruitment, payroll and benefits, training and development, absence and employee relations. You will be the first point of contact in HR, responding to employees, line managers and recruitment candidates in a timely manner. Supporting the HR Manager in the smooth delivery of a high quality HR service to the c140 employees and recruiting staff to meet demand for our services. In addition you will be supporting the cover of reception, greeting visitors into the office and answering the main telephone.

As HR Administrator you will need to have strong admin and organisational skills and be able to build effective working relationships. You have a welcoming manner and are comfortable managing a varied workload, able to deal positively with interruptions whilst staying on target. Ideally you have an understanding of HR practices with experience of working in an administrative capacity. You will have excellent communication and IT skills.

Watford Mencap is a small local charity supporting people with learning disabilities in South West Hertfordshire. We provide many services to people with learning disabilities including residential and supported living services, domiciliary care services, learning & leisure events and children's and young people's services. This is a varied role and no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide spectrum of HR activities and have the opportunity to support the wider team in the office and at events also.

Working pattern: You must work on at least 3 days evenly spread across the week and must include Thursdays, in order to enable timely responses to customers.
