Training Cafe Mentor

We are looking for people to support adults with learning disabilities to learn employment skills in our Cafe in Watford Central Library. The Cafe, which opened in November 2017 offers training to individuals to learn all aspects of working in a coffee shop as well as general retail skills. The Cafe is open Monday to Saturday so we are looking for people who can work throughout this period.

It's no ordinary job and every day can be different. Most importantly it's about offering opportunities for people to experience things that many of us take for granted. Every day can be different, such as learning:

Money skills

Stock Control

Customer Service

Barista skills

Food hygiene

You will be supporting people on a 1 to 1 basis as well as helping to run the Cafe. The Cafe is open 9.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am - 3.30pm Saturdays.

If you feel passionate about all people being given an opportunity to live life to the full then this job could suit you. In some cases previous experience is advantageous but for us it is much more important that you share our values and can demonstrate this.
