Personal Assistants


£9.71 per hour + benefits + sleep in allowance

We are looking for Personal Care Assistants to assist our disabled clients in our Supported Living projects in Bushey and Mill End.

You will be assisting our clients who have learning disabilities to achieve their own unique goals. This could be supporting someone to live more independently for the first time since leaving their family home to supporting someone to gain transferable skills and gain employment.

As Personal Assistant you will work closely with 1 to 2 individuals with learning disabilities. You will support individuals with their daily living activities which can include supporting them to access leisure activities such as going to the gym; or looking after their home; and day to day personal care. You will offer support and companionship, working in a respectful and person centred way. Listening to our clients so they can lead their own support and helping them gain confidence. Encouraging and teaching them new skills and develop their interests to increase their independence and enjoy new experiences. People with learning disabilities are at the heart of everything we do.

You are a people-person, able to build good working relationships, you have excellent communication skills and can communicate in a variety of ways with people from all walks of life. You are capable of working alone and thinking on your feet. You  are an organised person. You are respectful of others but determined to overcome challenges to achieve the end-result. In particular you are driven by the philosophy that everyone has the right to make the most of life.

We champion flexible working, our positions are offered on a full-time basis or part-time basis. These positions will require you to work flexibly and many of our workers are able to agree working patterns that fit the needs of the people they support and their own life. Support is provided 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. Shifts can start at different times of day, and Full-time workers would normally work 5 days in the week. Sleep-in duties, where the personal assistant is paid to stay over in the person’s home overnight. Although you would be able to get a full-night’s sleep, if a person were to need support you may have to support during the night.
