Community Buddy - Weekends

We are looking for people to support adults and children with a learning disabilities to get out and about at the weekends. The community team is going from strength to strength and we need to expand. We are looking for people who can work afternoons, evenings and weekends either on a permanent basis or as a casual worker.

It's no ordinary job and every day can be different. Most importantly it's about offering opportunities for people to experience things that many of us take for granted. Every day can be different, here are some examples:

  • Support with shopping
  • Going out for coffee/lunch/dinner
  • A visit to the pub, clubs, cinema, shows
  • Support with doing sport/visiting sporting events
  • Meeting friends

You could be supporting people on a 1 to 1 basis or within a group. We run the service 7 days a week and during the evenings, mostly up to 9pm. We are currently recruiting for hours in the afternoons, evenings and weekends.

If you feel passionate about all people being given an opportunity to live life to the full then this type of job could suit you very well. In some cases previous experience is advantageous but for us it is much more important that you share our values and can demonstrate this.
