Learning Disability Week 16th to 22nd June 2014
Why not join in the fun of LD week by getting involved in one of our events:
Watford Mencap will be celebrating Learning Disability by starting off a little bit early in the centre of Watford.
BSV Jazz Band will be playing outside Ladbrokes and collecting money for Watford Mencap on Saturday 14th June, with the help of residents from our Hillside home. All money raised will then be taken by Ladbrokes and doubled.
Watford Mencap offices are based in Rickmansworth so on Tuesday 17th June, we will be a collecting in the town and at the train station. Anyone who contributes will be given a voucher to come into our offices and get a cup of tea and a piece of cake. This is a great way to learn more about the services we offer people with a learning disability in Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere.
Sticking with the cake theme, the people of Chorleywood will be taking the opportunity to buy one of the delicious cakes made by the residents and staff of Thorpedale, one of the Watford Mencap residential homes. This has become an annual event on the streets of Chorleywood. So get down to the centre of Chorleywood on Friday 20th June so that you don’t miss out.
On Sunday 22nd June, some of the residents of Berrywood, another Watford Mencap home, will be taking part in a sponsored swim at The William Penn Leisure Club. Please do take this opportunity to go along and support them.
