VocaLink

VocaLink, an international payments provider with offices in Rickmansworth has a partnership agreement in place with Watford Mencap.  This commits both organisations to further the aims of Watford Mencap and formalises a programme of activities which supports the charity.

VocaLink commissioned art painted by the children at our Children’s Centre to display in their offices. After realising these talents and experiencing our team building opportunities, VocaLink helped us package a ‘Corporate team building challenge’ to offer to other companies. We were also given the opportunity to publicise this to corporates at the Responsible Partnerships Exhibition, in London this year.

Bryan Sharkey, VocaLink Assurance Director who is responsible for VocaLink’s Community Charity Partnerships, said: ‘We have fundraised for Watford Mencap for a number of years and are delighted that we can continue our support of the fantastic work they do, by offering them a smarter way to raise the vital funds they need.’

It doesn’t stop there! VocaLink employees have attended Watford Mencap events such as our Diamond Jubilee Ball and Big Breakfast, learning more about the charity’s work. They have raised money through Dress Down Days and a Santa Run street collection.

They have rolled up their sleeves to help: gardening and decorating at our homes, and making up our ladies at a pamper evening. Claire Hafner, VocaLink’s Chief Financial Officer volunteered for the pamper evening and described it as ‘very well-organised and very rewarding, what great fun for a great cause’.

We like working in partnership with VocaLink and look forward to sharing even more successes.
