Volunteering

There are many different ways you can volunteer and support Watford Mencap and we are sure you will make new friends and learn new skills. Some volunteering opportunities are regular activities, but if you feel you can't commit to something regularly, we are always looking for volunteers to help at one-off events. We will pay for reasonable travel expenses - why not give it a go?

Please see below for our current opportunities. Application forms can be downloaded from the bottom of this page.

 Volunteer Roles

We're looking for volunteers to help with a range of activities, including our Cafe, trading and charity shop, learning and leisure activies etc. Can you help?

  • Volunteer Driver

We are looking for volunteers who are car drivers to help us support people to a range of social and practical activities. We support people to go to a broad range of activities, groups and sessions. Often the transport could be the deciding factor as to whether someone can attend an activity. We have a range of roles, some volunteering within a regular pattern, some on an occasional basis. It would be an advantage if you are able to use your own car but we do have Watford Mencap cars that you could use, following a competency test. Travel expenses would be paid. This is a good opportunity to get to know and have a real impact on someone’s life for the better.
