Children and Young People’s Worker

Full time or Part time

£8.06 per hour plus benefits

Join our team of and you will be planning and delivering a variety of stimulating activities and experiences for children and young people aged 0-25 with learning disabilities. You will be leading play and leisure sessions to maximise the young people's participation and providing person-centred support.

As a support worker you will be facilitating increased independence by encouraging and supporting participation in daily living activities, decision making and choice. You will provide high-quality support and appropriate social interaction to meet the varying needs of children and young people. You will also provide a link for parents so excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are key.

You are a positive team player who can form and maintain effective working relationships. You are able to work using your own initiative, plan and prioritise workload, and contribute ideas to support the service delivery. You have knowledge of the needs of people with a learning disability and challenge discrimination; you are inclusive with an understanding of the importance of choice, control and rights. Ideally you have knowledge and experience of working with children and young people.
