Volunteering
There are many different ways you can volunteer and support Watford Mencap, while making friends and learning new skills. Some volunteering opportunities are regular activities, but if you feel you can't commit to something regularly, we are always looking for volunteers to help at one-off events. We will pay for reasonable travel expenses - why not give it a go?

Fundraising
Watford Mencap relies on fundraising efforts to ensure that our services continue and develop. There are many ways you can help to raise money for Watford Mencap.
You can take part in one of our exciting events, or alternatively, organise a fundraiser with friends, colleagues or through your local community group. You could also nominate us as your company's "Charity of the Year".

There are several ways you can donate to Watford Mencap
SMS
You can now donate to Watford Mencap via text. Simply text "WMEN15" followed by the amount you want to donate to 70070. For example: WMEN15 £5
Donate as you shop
Click here to go to our easyfundraising page, where you can sign up for brands to donate to Watford Mencap when you shop online - at no extra cost to yourself.

Donate goods to our Bushey charity shop
We are always happy to receive donations of saleable goods, from clothes and shoes to bric-a-brac, toys, and books. Please drop off any donations directly to the shop, or contact us first if you have any questions.
Even better, if you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim an extra 25% in Gift Aid from the Government. This doesn't cost you anything.

Donate items to our Hub
If you would like to help us out directly with items for our Hub, please click here to see our Wish List and donate some much needed items. Follow the simple process on your ebay account.
Donate a percentage of your eBay earnings
If you are selling items on eBay from your own account, you can still help us by donating a percentage (from 10% to 100%) of your final sale price to Watford Mencap. Follow the simple process on your ebay account.
Recycle stamps, rags, books and more
- Help Watford Mencap raise more funds by saving used postage stamps. Simply leave a 0.5cm border around each stamp, separate UK and foreign stamps, and send them to our offices in Watford.Thinking of decluttering? Watford Mencap works with Choice Textiles which takes rags, books, crockery and small electrical items for cash. It's a great way for us to raise money, and it keeps unwanted goods out of the landfill - plus, second-hand clothing is exported to less developed countries. Everyone's a winner!
Become a member
Watford Mencap is a membership organisation. Members receive regular updates about our services and activities. We welcome all views about the organisation and members also have the right to vote at our Annual General Meeting and at Extraordinary General Meetings should they be held.
The membership fee of £5 per year helps us to provide vital services for local people with learning disabilities.
