If you care for a family member or friend, you’re a carer too, and you deserve support. The Patricia Coulson Suite Caring for Carers Support Hub at Watford General Hospital offers a safe, welcoming space where unpaid carers can take a breather, enjoy a hot drink, talk to someone who understands, and access practical advice and support. It’s open to carers of all ages, including young carers. Caring for someone else can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be overwhelming. Remember, looking after yourself is just as important. 📍 The Hub is located on Level 4, PMOK, Watford General Hospital (main lift foyer). #CarersSupportButton

E enjoyed a lovely trip to Oxhey Woods earlier this week, following the Sculpture Trail through the trees. The woodland provided plenty of shade, making it the perfect place to explore and enjoy the warm weather. We had a great time spotting the sculptures along the route and taking in the beautiful surroundings. Getting out into nature, staying active and exploring the local woodland are all great ways to support wellbeing. 💚 #WatfordMencap #OxheyWoods #SculptureTrail #Inclusion #LearningDisabilitySupportButton

Due to the heat, our charity shop in Bushey is closed today. We will reopen tomorrow (27th June) between 9am - 1pm. We have really missed seeing our customers this week. We are very mindful of our staff and volunteers' wellbeing, so will remain closed until the red heat alert passes. We thank you for your understanding. We will be back to usual business hours next week. We hope you have all been keeping as cool as you can!Button

Due to the hot weather, the community hub at 92a will remain closed today and tomorrow (26th + 27th June) to help keep everyone safe. Our coffee morning has been cancelled today due to the heat. Our residential services are operating as normal, where teams are helping people to keep cool and comfortable. The Café in the Library is currently open, with air conditioning and refreshments! If you need any help please email advice@watfordmencap.org.uk. We look forward to seeing everyone next week. #WatfordMencap #CommunitySupport #StaySafe #Heatwave #WatfordButton

A trip to the hairdressers can be about so much more than a haircut. 💇♀️✨ Recently, JG enjoyed some time at the hairdressers with support from our Outreach Team. Our Outreach Team supports people with a learning disability to live as independently as possible and take part in the things that matter to them. Support can look different for everyone. Some people need just a few hours each week, while others require more regular support. We can help with: • Budgeting and managing money • Healthy eating and meal planning • Shopping • Accessing the community and social activities • Using public transport • Building confidence and independence If you’d like to find out more about our Outreach Service, please get in touch: 📩Email: agency@watfordmencap.org.uk 📱 Mobile: 07789 175276 (during office hours) 👤 Service Manager: Jeanette #WatfordMencap #LearningDisabilitySupport #OutreachService #Independence #CommunitySupportButton
