Covid 19 Inquiry Report October 2026
The UK Covid 19 Inquiry Module 6
The UK COVID-19 Inquiry Module 6 focuses on how care homes, care provided in people's homes and unpaid carers were affected by the Covid 19 pandemic.
More people died than should have. People weren't able to spend time with their loved ones. The care sector was not prioritised as it should have been.
Carers, both professional and unpaid, were remarkable. They did all they could to keep people safe and make sure they kept as active as possible.
But it was hard and people in the care sector suffered needlessly.
As our colleagues at Herts Care Professionals Association (https://www.hcpa.info/) said "we must make sure those experiences are not simply remembered, but used to ensure social care is never an afterthought again."
