Warner Bros donation to Watford Mencap
Warner Bros Leavesden Studios, who are redeveloping their huge site to provide state of the art film production facilities, have made a massive £5000 donation to Watford Mencap.

Diamond Jubilee Artwork Unveiled
An artwork depicting the history of Watford Mencap has been unveiled at the offices in Rickmansworth.
The High Street offices were bursting at the seams as nearly 100 members, supporters, staff and volunteers gathered for the event.

20:20 Development Fund
Watford Mencap receives a grant from National Mencap’s 20:20 Development Fund
Watford Mencap is thrilled to receive £1,163 from National Mencap’s 20:20 Development Fund. This funding will enable Watford Mencap to organise and host essential “Approach Training” for support staff from local Mencap groups across Hertfordshire.

Ricky School Success for Watford Mencap
Three Year 9 girls from Rickmansworth School did a sterling job at the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) Grand Final. Sponsored by Capital Shopping Centres Group PLC, it took place on Tuesday 24th April at Rickmansworth School. Monique Page, Mariam Abbas and Aisha Waheed beat 6 other finalists to the first prize of £3000 for their chosen charity, Watford Mencap.

Marathon Mania
Running a marathon is a great way of raising money for charity. Here at Watford Mencap we would love to have more people getting marathon places and supporting the work we do with people with a learning disability.
We do not have any marathon places so if you do apply in the ballot for the London Marathon or obtain a place for any of the other marathons around the country, please sponsor Watford Mencap.
This year so far we have 2 people who are doing just that...

On Tuesday 21st February a large, vocal crowd turned out to see Three Rivers DC Chairman Cllr Chris Whately-Smith officially start the race. Our congratulations go to the Sales Team from Sewell & Gardner who were this year’s winners!
